Would I be entitled to funding?

I will be made redundant in the next year so I am considering my options, one of them being to use the fact that after my DC's were born (20 odd years ago) I trained to be a nursery nurse and do my PGCE and become a primary school teacher.
I don't need an argument about teaching.
What I need to know is that if I did my original degree in the 80's but didn't get a grant but had my fees paid would I be entitled to have anything now? Does anyone know?

You can now get student loans for postgraduate studies, but you will not get funding for another first degree.

Do you already have a PGCE or do you want to do one? If its the latter I think you would be entitled to funding for the course both in terms of tuition fee loans and maintenance loans, the latter being means tested though.

Thanks both. No I don't want to do another first degree, just wondering if a PGCE is a viable option, which looks like it might be.

This link might help OP

Yes you would get funding for a PGCE and depending on subject a bursary - if your degree is physics you can get £25K

Probably not as the funding isn't about whether you've had funding before, but what level of education you've reached. As you've done both a first degree & a PGCE, you wouldn't get further funding.

And by the way - there are no grants - it's all loans now.
