Can anyone help please? I am on the Uni open day circuit with DS. He is struggling with his short list for UCAS form. If I tell you want he wants can you tell me where he can find it please? Smile

He liked the library at York, the accommodation at Royal Holloway, (the beautiful building with the turrets!) the course structure at Brunel. He didn't like anything about LSE.
So far, York is his favourite but he wasn't sure he liked the course structure. (I can't expand on that as I am out of my depth here)
We are looking at Warwick on Saturday.
Any ideas?

Well said, Lightthelamp, Scotland has excellent universities where doing joint Honours history & politics, with the third year abroad, would not be a problem (it would be a four year degree anyway). Many post-war leading Labour members came through Glasgow University, not least Donald Dewar. Whether you agree with the SNP or not, Mhairi Black came through their Politics department and there are scholars looking at the history of post-war politics in the Social Sciences there. The Scottish system gives a bit more flexibility, I think, if you have more than one subject interest.

My daughter - who had originally hovered between history and politics - is currently studying Human Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge.

She hadn't originally felt that keen on going. But as an able student was encouraged by her school to put it down as 1 of her 5 options.
