It's just occurred to me that DD will be moving into her accommodation around sept the 10th (gulp-not long at all) and we're no where near ready with the essentials and the not so essentials!!

So far we've thought about a door stop, tin of biscuits/sweets, extension leads and some fancy dress (don't think DD is up for that one though!)

What else will your DC's be taking?

DD’s hall list said they provide a matters protector so we have just got a mattress topper. Went today to Dunelm Mill and spend a small fortune on a duvet/pillows/bedding/throw/cushion. DD likes a comfy bed! She is in catered so got minimal crockery/glasses and cutlery. She is getting very excited now!!

My DD is very excited too, we've just got a couple of things to get now like mattress topper and a hairdryer.

Can't believe that she's only got 8 more days at home before she goes Shock

Is that quite an early start?

DS can't go over until 1 October. Hence nothing organised yet...Shock

I think uni's vary a lot with start dates. Aberdeen Freshers is this week but Durham don’t start until October. DD is going to Bristol and she is going on 18th Sept for the start of Freshers.

Cheap single duvet to go under the sheets rather than a mattress topper. Plastic food bags and a marker pen. Box for underbed storage as they end up with loads in their room. We also bought a rug for the floor which made a huge difference as DD's room had washable flooring rather than carpet.
