Anyone else's DC had any administrative problems getting started at uni?

Mine has just started and can't get logged in to the site that will tell him his timetable, tutor etc. He's been promised help with this but despite the "help" it still isn't working for him. It's getting to the point where he will miss the start of lectures if he doesn't get in soon and we're not sure if his grant and loan will go in until he's managed to register on this site (luckily he had quite a generous gift of money "to get started" from my ILs so he's got something to live on for now). We've been FB messaging each other and I'm really impressed at how patient and unpanicky he's been (this a boy who was scared shitless at the prospect of just introducing himself to his flatmates a few days ago) and I know he will get through it somehow, but it's frustrating for him and feels weird for me not being in a position to solve it for him. Just wondered if anyone else there is going through anything similar...

Well, perhaps posting here about it brought us luck, He has just let me know that he's finally managed to get into the site. Hope that gives some hope to anyone whose DC are still struggling with something similar.

ha ha ha. Of course there is. University admin is often rubbish.
I tell my DC that the point of a degree is to show that you can succeed despite them, that you can overcome such problems.
Have you seen the thread on resilience?

my DS enrollment for year 2 is also playing up; he has his timetable etc but according to student finance the uni have still not re-enrolled him (so no money as of yet) - he has also shown his maturity in sorting it out himself without my nagging and made an appointment with the enrollment admin team

That had me looking for the like button, cricketballs - not that there's been a mix-up, but that he's been so confident about solving it.
