I have 2 cousins

older bro went to uni - found it hard to get job

younger bro didn't go to uni and was manager of sainsburys very quickley and then moved to other stores

Depends on the degree. Media studies at Middlesex University may not be worth having. English at Oxford might be. Employers have a pretty good idea which are the best universities. As long as students know the pros and cons they can then make up their own minds whether the debt is worth taking on. Also if you're poor enough from this year it's a much better deal. So if your parents are poor you don't have to pay when you start earnign what others do even if those others had parents who didn't pay them a penny and even if the poor parents funded the student.

His degree was History from Durham Uni about 25 years ago

So it was a good degree from a proper uni
