....dd just got her first university assignment back and she got a 1st!

I am so pleased for her I'm crying all over again, and I thought I'd finally stopped.

That's brilliant - well done to her :)

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 03/10/2014 18:52

Congratulations to her, you should be very proud.

What a great motivator for her too!

Missunreasonable · 03/10/2014 18:53

Why would it make anybody cross?
Well done to your dd!

Floggingmolly · 03/10/2014 18:54

That's fantastic Smile What's she doing?

Hakluyt · 03/10/2014 18:55

Mind you, not entirely sure that getting a First in an essay on the definition of person in regards to the trinitarian theologies of Aquinas and the Cappadocian Fathers is going to stand her in very good stead in the 2018 employment market.........Grin

Aah, well done to your dd! :)

boys3 · 03/10/2014 19:51

Well done to her, should be great for her confidence going forward.

Rather like the clever jeux de mots in the thread title too given the subject of her assignment. :)

Hakluyt · 03/10/2014 20:03

I wish it had been deliberate, boys3!

AdoraBell · 03/10/2014 21:26

Grin Well done to your DD Thanks

also can't understand why anyone would be cross, but that's not important

Molio · 03/10/2014 22:46

Well done to your DD Hak. But when on earth did she start her first term if she's not only done fresher's week, not only written an assignment but actually had it marked and returned to her too Shock? Where is she? Perhaps you don't want to say. Is she enjoying it though? DS doesn't leave until Sunday.

Hakluyt · 03/10/2014 22:55

Edinburgh, molio- started on September 8th!

OP posts:
Molio · 03/10/2014 22:57

Oh that's great Hak. DS has just applied there, I hope he gets in :) So she was there for the referendum - quite a start!

Molio · 03/10/2014 22:59

DS3 is the Edinburgh one. DS2 is the one I'm shifting on Sunday. What's the weather like? Rain? :)

Hakluyt · 03/10/2014 23:00

Yes- she was quite excited about it! Very long terms-September 8th to december 21st. Sad. But she's having a ball!

That's brilliant! Very good first impression for her tutors too, they will love her forever now Smile. Edinburgh is such a great place to be.

Hakluyt · 03/10/2014 23:07

And she's just texted to say she's in a bar 10 feet away from JK Rowling!

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/10/2014 23:44

Cool!

TheWordFactory · 04/10/2014 12:24

Glad your DD is enjoying herslef Hak. It's such a lovely experience.

Isthiscorrect · 04/10/2014 15:37

What an amazing start for your dd. You are right to be do proud of her. Sounds like an amazing start for her, referendum, JK Rowling, a First for her first. Brilliant.

frogsinapond · 04/10/2014 16:17

I knew it would be Scotland! Edinburgh is lovely, and excellent to have made such a good start.

MiddleAgeMiddleEngland · 04/10/2014 21:27

Brilliant, well done! You have every reason to boast. September 8 does sound like an early start but I think Scotland is generally before England with term dates.

My DD got into top sets for virtually everything (I didn't even know they'd be streamed!). She phoned to tell me, but actually I was even more impressed when she said "I can't stop, Mum, I want to hoover my room before my next lecture."

mumeeee · 04/10/2014 23:00

Congratulations to you DD Hakluyt
