Remember the SAAS deadline is tomorrow. And you need to reapply for funding and fees each year - it's not automatically continued.

DD has insurance offer at Edinburgh. Has applied to SFE for tuition fee loan and maintenance loan (but her first choice offer, in England, was the one that was named on the SFE application). What is SAAS? Is there anything else she should have done?

AgentProvocateur · 29/06/2014 19:03

SAAS is the Student Award Agency Scotland, and it's where scottish students get their course funded from, and apply for maintenance loans to. It sounds like it's the equivalent of SFE, so, no, your DD doesn't need to do anything more.

Does that mean if you apply later than tomorrow you wont get it? Ive lost my p60 and trying to sort things so I can complete the application.

I didn't realise there was a deadline so thanks for this post!

Or is a student parent themselves OP? Quite a few of us are on here.

stripeyred · 29/06/2014 19:10

Sorry, that sounded quite sarky. Wasn't meant too

AgentProvocateur · 29/06/2014 20:08

That's ok, stripeyred - I didn't take it as sarky. And good point.

Oorwullie, I think if you don't apply by tomorrow it won't be guaranteed by the start of term. It says on their website to apply by tomorrow, even if you're still waiting for your higher results. Not sure how that works if you've got a conditional...

Thanks Agent, I don't mind if it's not totally aorted by start of term, so I don't need to panic then!

I have an unconditional but if you have a conditional you just apply anyway and if you don't take the place you let them know you don't need it.
