Master's course: tuition fees and application deposit

I'm defeated by stupidity, or maybe an incoherent website: If a student is made an offer but is told that an application deposit of 10% of the tuition fees is payable before the place can be confirmed, is the application deposit part of the tuition fees (or does DC have to find another £900)? Yes, DC should be sorting this themselves and is probably emailing right now, but my advice has also been sought as touchingly I am still seen as the fount of all knowledge, so I'm asking the knowledgeable people on here while wobbling on my pedestal.

DC sorted - deposit is part of fees

yes, the deposit is part of the fees. so if it's 10,000 fee, 10% is 1000, and he'll have to pay the other 9,000 when the time comes! :)

Thanks a lot, great to have it confirmed.
