Things to think about &/or take to shared accommodation?

I'm stressing about DD going away; I respond to stress by over planning. I know this isn't very productive but it helps me......so indulge me

What do I need to remember to ask about shared housing?

What do I need to remember to remind DD to pack?

& I know the "if she is old enough to leave home she is old enough to do it herself" thing - but this isn't about her, it's about me!

I know I'm a nightmare

Maybe check to see if your contents insurance will cover her stuff (for an extra fee?) or if she needs her own policy.

Good idea - thanks

Firstly. It'll be fine !

I assume she wont be cooking or will she?

Check insurance and don't take anything you can't afford to loose/have stolen or destroyed in a bout of " high jinks"

I know she will be fine - I'm worried about me!

She will be cooking in the landladies kitchen - so I imagine it's pretty fully equipped

She doesn't have a lot (well dance kit is expensive so she has nothing else really as it's all Birthday/Christmas presents)

I need to get her a second set of towels & some more bedding as she wants to keep what she has here

She seems so young to be going away katy! The rest of us get two more years.....

One additional suggestion - two bathmats. She's won't to share anyone else's.

Have you been on The Student Room at all? There may be a section for her college where there are some good specific suggestions for dancers!

KatyMac · 03/06/2014 09:22

I can't spot anything for her college on there

Bath mats - great idea!

I know but she is coping for me here Wink

Just read the other thread - she is SO thoughtful!

And the bathmats idea comes from bitter experience - I have binned several mats from the older DCs houses rather than even attempt to get them clean!

She is a poppet - and have you seen the thread about her dancing?
