Never had to buy one of these but dd just about to start university open day visiting. Anyway I just got one with just £15 worth of Tesco clubcard vouchers instead of £30 normally or £27 online.
May be common knowledge but worth sharing just in case Smile

Great, thanks my DS could probably use one!

Wow, that's good. My DD needs one. Thanks for the tip - perfect timing.

Grrrr, guess who has £14:50 of Tesco points Sad

Yes DS1 got one last year just before the round of open days. It saved a fortune. I renewed it this year as he has been on offer holder days.
There are other ways to get them cheaper I think. I bought him an NUS card which gives lots of discounts and I think this was one.
There are also student bank accounts which offer them as an incentive.

DD looks so young she goes everywhere on a kids fare. She paid full fare for the first time ever the other week because she had an interview and was travelling during school hours and got stopped and asked why she wasn't in school Grin

I save my vouchers for meals out because you get 4 time the face value. Before they changed the rules we had a couple of short breaks to Italy that cost less than £30 in real money with Cosmos and I've got a nice collection of designer watches from Goldsmiths.
