Portfolio for Product Design course

DD has interviews coming up for Product Design degrees and has to present a portfolio, but has no idea of structure, what should be in it - and school is being no help. Anyone got any experience of this?

Yes she was very pleased- Brunel is supposed to be the best design school going! Would be lovely to have an offer from Loughborough too- she loved it on the open day.

Oops think I already said that!

What did your DD's and DS's wear for the interviews? School says 'smart office' - but DD hasn't ever worn a skirt in her life and also thinks smart not appropriate. Interested in what others are doing - though she knows she's got to feel comfortable in herself.

Dd is off to Lougborough today. For this and all the other interviews, she has worn smart- dark skirt and a smart top with a little cardigan ( but not a skirt suit IYKWIM) When I accompanied her to one, most of the other candidates were fairly smart but not all in skirts ( girls that is!) with a few exceptions- jeans etc.

Of course they don't wear attire like this as students but for a formal interview it can't hurt to try and make an impression.

DS said at Loughborough all the other boys were in suits ( he wasn't) and looked 'very shiny and uncomfortable', whereas the girls wore anything from smart skirts to jeans and looked 'more normal'.

He is a scruffbag though.

Be interested to see the applicants at my daughters interviews for and art and design degree. My daughter is wearing black jeans, smart top and smart leather jacket but wants to feel comfortable because they are half days and she thinks there may be a planned activity afoot.

She has finally, today, found some black boots - I'm happy because they are rather smarter than her Dr Martens!

She has three interviews in the next two weeks so I'm getting nervous even if she isn't.

DD just back from Loughborough- offered a place on the spot Smile but not sure what grades yet- presume that will be in the e-mail.

Yes, I think so. My daughter friend had a verbal offer last week from Cardiff (on Saturday in interview) but UCAS updated on Tuesday with the terms.

Congratulations to your DD BTW
