He leaves for University on Friday. So far I have 2 Pot Noodles. Grin What other food treats would be handy in the first week?

You sound so nice Sparkling. Gift for Mum sounds lovely too. Thanks

Sparklingbrook · 15/09/2013 17:29

I remember my Mum the Day my Dad took my DB to University for the first day Jellicle. She was hoovering the hall and sobbing her heart out at the same time, but saying 'I'm ok, I'm ok'. Sad I think it stayed with me.

oh no am I too late?

I was going to suggest a tin of that "Breakfast in a Tin" or whatever its called (beans with sausage, bacon, mushrooms in). I've no idea what its like but it always make me laugh when I see it as the concept is great for when you've got a hangover but I bet it tastes foul!

Also a Fray Bentos pie in a tin.

Sparklingbrook · 15/09/2013 17:49

Not too late at all Norbert. Finishing touches will be added tomorrow. Smile Ooh Fray Bentos-I quite fancy one of those myself.

Sparklingbrook · 15/09/2013 17:51

Oh my word Norbert that must be a hangover cure!

Sparkling, you are very lovely.

clopper · 15/09/2013 17:52

My ds loved tinned Fray Bentos pies and tinned stagg chilli, also uncle bens flavoured express rice which cooks in about 2 minutes.

Sparklingbrook · 15/09/2013 17:53

I always want everyone to be ok Isla. Probably a character flaw really. Grin

catinboots · 15/09/2013 17:56

SPsTotallyMullerFuckingLicious · 15/09/2013 17:56

Isn't that what Uni is about? Drinking and fornicating? Grin

Stuff them in with toiletries.

RedPencils · 15/09/2013 18:01

Beer

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 15/09/2013 18:12

Box of breakfast bars so he can at least grab something vaguely nutritious on his way to lectures.

notallytuts · 16/09/2013 17:24

I think stamps are a good idea. He won't need them often but it's really annoying not to have one when you need one!

Sparklingbrook · 16/09/2013 22:09

Well thanks all, he was really chuffed with all the goodies. I decided against the condoms in the end. Grin His Mum can sort that out.

His Mum says he's gone a bit quiet......

I sent my niece with a big bag of treat size chocolate bars, and her Grandma sent her with 2 tins of homemade cakes.
Apparently she's very popular with her new flatmates already Wink Grin

Sparklingbrook · 22/09/2013 15:26

Smile. My friend said he was settled and chatting in the kitchen when they left. She sounds a bit down today.
