Hi, firstly i have received a bursary application form from the uni, it asks if i am in a 'low participation neighbourhood' how would i find that out? Should i just tick it and see what happens? I live on a small council estate.

Also they have asked me to prepare to write a 1500 essay on 'What is social work'

Which is fine, but i it has specifically asked for a 'critical essay' and i have been looking online for what this actually means and all i seem to get is what my understanding of any essay is.

I have a couple of books to be getting on with reading, which my friend lent to me but any advice would be fantastic.

Low participation neighbourhood is normally defined by postcode. There are a few postcode checkers online, but I don't know if they all work off the same data set so I'd suggest trying a few and seeing if they all come out the same or not.
