Anywhere to buy cheap books for studying?

Just wondering if there are any well known websites that sell books cheaper for studying?

The book I want is called teaching today by Geoff Petty, 2009 edition!

I have looked on eBay and amazon and the books are around £20 on there.

Have you checked out Kindle, they seem to have developed to serve the niche market for academic books and you can often find that the digital edition is cheaper, sometimes even only available digitally. I have got my hands on some obscure biographies and out of print academic books and DD has noticed she can get books, including course textbooks, more cheaply in her area, Science, too.

I generally check google shopping search, alibris and abebooks too.but I can't see it any cheaper I'm afraid.

This is a price comparison site for books. It gives an earlier version of Petty for less than £3. I found a 2004 (3rd edition) on ebay for about £8 a couple of years ago. Save the search in ebay and see what comes up. This is what comes up for the 2009 edition. His Evidence based teaching book is cheaper and worth buying as a substitute if you can't find a copy of teaching today

How long o you need it for? I bought quite a few books for my MEd and they all sold very well on Amazon afterwards. That got me back nearly all of my costs when I sold them a year later.

Like rose I also sell my books on Amazon when I'm done with them to defray the costs
