Does JSA for lodger count towards Maint Grant application?

My DB and SIL have just split up and DB is coming to lodge with us temporarily. We will shortly be making Student Finance applications for DD and I wondered if his JSA would count towards our household income when they calculate DD entitlement, or do they only take mine and DH earings into consideration? Any knowledge/experience would be appreciated Grin

I doubt it - otherwise any lodger would have to declare their salary to their landlord! His rent would count as your income though

Your brother won't be contributing towards the support of your daughter, will he?

Thanks for the replies guys. For other peoples information, I phoned the Student Finance helpline and they confirmed that it doesn't count - just mine and DH income Smile

Bear in mind that any rent he pays you and your DH will almost certainly count as income
