Online MSc. How did you choose the course and university?

Has anyone done a distance learning MSc course? Does it matter if the university running it is overseas? Are there any good websites which list them? I imagine the better universities cost more... But are maybe worth it in terms of employment prospects? I haven't been to uni since 1997 and feel a bit out of touch! Everything seems to happen online now.
