Found out today that my application for student finance for my open degree has been approved. Sooooooo happy :)

What have I let myself in for - any people doing one/done it?

Good luck! Definitely calls for some new stationery Wink

What are you studying? I didn't do OU, I did physical uni, and am always mighty impressed at people who do!

I'm doing an open degree so get to choose the modules I want to do. First year will be discovering Maths and 2nd is social sciences.
Not thought about next year yet but want to aim them towards what will be helpful in a future career - hopefully teaching!

I applied to uni this year but didn't get in on the BA in education because I have zero classroom experience, but have also just been accepted on a teacher assistant training course which will give me 390 hours of classroom exp this year and then next year I can work as a TA alongside doing my second year with OU.

That's the plan anyway Wink

I am too! Really quite nervous and excited! I'm doing a BA(Hons) in English Lit, hopefully over 3 years, as I've signed up to do 120 credits this year! Confused It's a bit weird though - I haven't sent off my form yet for funding yet, but when I tried to apply online it gave me a CRN, so I've used it to finish registering for my courses. Now all my dates for TMA's are up, so I'm assuming everything's ok, and apparently my first pack of materials is being sent today! I bought some labels today (ooooOOOOOoooohhhh!!) but DD wouldn't let me buy any more folders as 'we already have loads of folders you can use'. Shock Sad Grin I called her a cowbag and she laughed at me. (14 yo, more like 23.)

Oh, what a lovely post to read! Congratulations! And to butterfly as well.

Congrats butterfly! Mine are being sent on the 14th September. Only doing 60 credits during the 1st year, might up it the following year when I am not doing my TA course.
