How is the A2 revision going?

I just wondered how A2 revision was going? It seems a while ago since our DCs completed their UCAS forms and now A2 exams are just round the corner, if they have not already started. It is 87 days until they get their results!
In our family we have one A2 subject complete and 2 more to go plus some 2nd year university exams.
Good luck to all those DCs taking exams.

History finally over ,what a relief but a very stressful 24 hours ,have never seen him like that before an exam ,he said he calmed down once he was sitting down with the paper and seems OK so we can only hope for the best. One of his friends finishes this afternoonEnvy

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 12/06/2012 17:21

Yes dd very stressed over this one. She slept all afternoon having not done so properly for days.

outtolunchagain · 12/06/2012 19:42

Well ,had seemed quite OK but has now starred the dissecting.Really hope he gas done enough ,he worked so hard it would be a shame if timing was the problem .

It's so hard to stay calm and consistant isn't it?

outtolunchagain · 12/06/2012 19:42

Sorry about typos,on phone

goinggetstough · 12/06/2012 22:10

out hope the history was still viewed as OK even after the dissecting!!!
My DC's exam seemed to go OK today but still one more to go tomorrow( and that will be harder) and then it is all over.
We are all nearly there albeit some of us are slightly closer than others!!!!!

Yes dd is counting UMS marks and getting in a state. Roll on Friday!

gelatinous · 13/06/2012 08:45

Solid day of maths revision planned here today for FP2 tomorrow. Ds can't tell how Economics went yesterday (he has a completely unsuccessful track record in predicting results in this subject), but thinks he 'may as well' do the other Economics paper resit next week which means he at least thinks there's a chance yesterdays paper went very well. He's still planning to do M3 next week too for no good reason other than that it looks interesting.

So we won't be finished until next week.

To all the UMS counters, especially in something as subjective as history, sometimes ignorance is bliss - there's nothing that can be done about it now but I know it's almost impossible not to worry, especially when so much is hanging on the results. Hope it's good news for all in August.

melodyangel · 13/06/2012 10:47

DS1 will just be coming out of Chemistry exam now. Have asked him to text when he is out so I can stop worrying, then he has music later this week and Biology at the end of next week. Then it's all over until results day.

Good luck to all your DC's.

eatyourveg · 14/06/2012 11:06

Still waiting to start here!

outtolunchagain · 14/06/2012 11:40

3 down and one to go here, last one not until next Wed though .Difficult to keep the momentum going though

gelatinous · 14/06/2012 12:29

FP2 did not go well :(. Hopefully FP3 was good enough that this won't matter. Ho hum!

Tressy · 15/06/2012 16:01

Hi I was on the UCAS thread under a different name.

DD has History which you can never tell how it went.

A horrendous Chem on Wednesday and is seriously worried that this exam will result in her missing her grades :(

Bio today, which was OK

Chem resit next week which with a lot of work might compensate for the horrible paper.

I am shattered by it all tbh this week and just went into melt down over something little.

eatyourveg · 15/06/2012 18:45

Yeay! Finally kicked off today - its almost a relief.

In the car on the way home..
How did it go "dunno"
Were you writing up until the end "dunno"
Did you manage to put in loads of references "dunno"

Inhaled deeply and moved on to the music concert he is performing in next week.

How many pieces are you playing "dunno"
Are you doing a solo "dunno"
Are you deliberately being evasive "dunno"

I've decided not to ask anything about school ever again!!

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 15/06/2012 19:01

dd has finished. She sent me a text 'It's over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' Smile

Nice when they're so chatty isn't it eatyourveg Hmm?

goinggetstough · 15/06/2012 20:43

My DC has finished too. He finished on Wednesday and has been chilling out since!!! We have had an admin day..... Sorting out school things so he can get into his room. Notes in a pile all ready to be disposed of after the results.

Revision books are advertised on amazon. ( worth doing if you don't need the books for another child as they have a wide audience to sell to.)

Had to do all this ASAP as we live in a very small flat......

eatyourveg - I get the standard reponse of FINE to everything!

Tressy - DS1 had Chem on Wednesday too. He said it went fine, see above, but went on to say a couple of the questions were "Totally weird." Maybe I should have stopped asking at fine!

All finished next Friday - can't wait.

sheldee123 · 16/06/2012 07:19

Hmm yes I find laid back a problem ! My DD was like a robot when she was doing A2s DS however is horizontal! He's found the long gap a bit de motivating he just wants to get them finished now! Roll on next week !

outtolunchagain · 20/06/2012 11:55

That's it over ,he's finishedGrinRelieved I think ,now writing lists of things that have to be done before he goes in holiday and trying not to think about results

MedusaIsHavingABadHairDay · 20/06/2012 18:23

Finished here today too:) Bio..so so.. Psych..fantastic.. English..disappointed in herself but thinks it will be ok. Now we can relax til results day:):)

She is out tomorrow night to celebrate:)

However I'm now waiting on DD1's end of year med school exam results... not quite stress free yet!

outtolunchagain · 20/06/2012 19:25

I sense that ds also disappointed with English as well ,just a feeling that he didn't do himself justice ,but he tends to be very hard on himself .Think he is out on Friday celebrating!

Yellowtip · 20/06/2012 19:46

Upshot here is fine, fine, fine, meh (with one result in last year). Older sister's Finals results due mid-July (she having had to go and dictate the last paper again at the cost of £60, due to scruffy writing) and GCSEs for poor DS3 still ongoing. DD3 did Prelims in March, so at least we know she can stay on where she is. One down, three to go (four if I include a couple of ASs for DS2, but I'm trying to forget about those).

gelatinous · 21/06/2012 19:12

Finished this afternoon with M3 (on minimum preparation) which he was very happy with. So now to chill until August.

ucasfracas · 22/06/2012 13:39

DD1 has got through 2nd year at Uni :)

DD2 has final A2 this pm.

It will be such a relief when it is over.

For me anyway...
