Hi

I'm looking for feedback on Peter Symonds College in Winchester . . . how good it is? whether you have children there and what they think of it? what the communcation is like with parents??

Well, I don't have a dc there yet, but all the kids from here go and all seem very positive. Next-door-neighbour's dd has just gone to Cambridge to study Law; ds's friends' older brothers have both just started Medicine at university - and dh's niece appears to be going out with the Bishop of Winchester's ds...

i went 7 years ago and have a sister there now. they are good and quite proactive and any laziness is taken very seriously indeed.

however, students are expected to be very independent and though a lot of the teaching is very good, poor teaching is occassionally overlooked in our experience.

the indpendence ofered there was very good for me. Great big facilities too which many 6th forms don't have.

Its a step between school and uni - I went on a campus tour and spoke to staff and a parent and thought it sounded really good.
