Is a NVQ level 3 = to a diploma level 3?

I want to do an NVQ level 3 in business admin, but I need to be employed in an admin position in order to do this. I read on one website that a diploma level 3 in admin is = to a nvq level 3 in admin.

Just wondering if this is the case? as i can do a diploma without working in an admin position.

They are not the same, NVQ is more tick box - can you type a letter? then you get a tick.

Diplomas are usually BTEC, but can be other boards and take much more work. IMHO the diploma is a better qualification.

Oh that's great news. As I could just start the diploma and I won't need to be in a admin position in order to do this :) thank you for replying.
