What is Digital media design ?

can someone explain in simple terms what a Digital Media Design Degree would consist of and what A levels you might require for this. What are job prospects like in this area of design?
My daughter is asking. She starts 6th form in september

Going by what I covered doing Graphic Design, I think it would be interactive, web, animation and 3D design
