I dont understand the UCAS poses fully..

Does anyone have any insight on this, I am applying for primary teaching degree with qts,

I don't want to go anywhere but this one university which I live near.

Is it possible to apply for 2 or more courses at one university or is that frowned upon?

I'm new to all this and am wondering whether to do a special needs and inclusion degree then a PGCE a straight primary school degree or an early years with QTS- I'm happy to do any of them but will the uni look at it as odd?

also another stupid question.. if I dont get in to uni this year will I be able to apply for a different course before Sept or do I have to wait to do the whole UCAS thing next year?

I applie in 2007 but I doubt it has changed.

You van apply to multiple courses at the same Uni, BUT you should make sure that your personal statement reflects all choices. They may well puck up on your multiple application, they may not (depends on size of dept etc).

If you receive no offers you would be eligible to apply for a place on a course (providing they have spaces) via Clearing.

inOtherwise you will have to wait until the next cycle.

I heartily recommend thestudentroom.com for info on applications. It's a forum, but they do have a mature students section, and their general UCAS info should apply to you.

it's possible to apply for more than one course at the same university. The problems are writing the personal statements and that university departments want people committed to their subject. That's obviously less of an issue if the courses are fairly similar in nature but they'd probably prefer someone they felt was fully committed to special needs for that course, for example.

If you aren't accepted then you can use Extra or Clearing to apply for different courses, if they have vacancies this year. There is no guarantee there will be vacancies.

The student room is a very helpful website, although not always 100% accurate. You might also find the ucas facebook site good and UCAS are quite helpful on the phone if you need to speak to them.
