Can anyone talk to me about distance learning?

I live abroad. I would like to do a distance learning course.

I have been looking online and my choices are overwhelming.

How do I know if a company is reputable? How do I know if the qualification I will earn will be worth anything? Can anyone recommend a company?

I don't know if I am clever enough for OU.

I am not even sure what subject I would like to study.

As well as the OU, there is also the National Extension College, which was set up by the same people and is a non-profit organisation. They do courses which you might find you better for a starter if you're concerned that the OU ones are a bit much for now.

University of London does a variety of distance learning courses for a fraction of the price of ou.
