I think the BTEC accreditation has expired and they've been replaced by the new award/cert/diploma in supporting teaching and learning in schools.

I'm not finding it on the ofqual website - do you have any more details? Their search function is much worse than the ndaq's used to be!

BTEC level 2 intermediate certificate for teaching assistants by edexel

im not sure this would be high enough of a qualification for a TA job. I know I am a level 3 BTEC in early years and have recently completed a level 4 in early years and studying towards a degree and all TA jobs round here (MIDLANDS) request a level 4 minimum!

apparently its equivalent to a level 2 nvq?

Those search terms give me qualification number 100/2532/7 and the accreditation end date was apparently 30 Sep 2010, according to ofqual.

Did you find it via a distance learning provider like ICS or is it a local FE college? If it's the former I suspect they have lots of course materials they now can't use and are selling them off cheap because the qualification can no longer be accredited.

Blimey...really? I tried the OFQUAL website but found it a bit difficult to searh.

It was ICS.

thanks for that x

The new website is terrible. Ndaq was soooo much easier!

I've emailed ofqual and told them to reinstate the keyword search.

You have to have very precise search terms but often you have to play with putting in different bits of relevant info.
