Will my 6 month old be ok in an antilop?

Am thinking about braving Ikea tomorrow. Everyone seems to rave about the antilop highchairs but having looked at the pictures, I'm wondering if I'll need to use extra padding or support for my 6 month old. Will I?

You can get an inflatable 'buffer' for the antilop in ikea or get a high-chair cushion in mothercare. DS was in the antilop from 6 mths - much better than the chicco we had at the in-laws. The tray is a bit of a PITA to remove though.

You might, but not for long, and if you do its such an enclosed and supportive chair that it works fine. If he/she is sitting well and quite big, will be fine. You can get a blow up insert which is fine and sort of adjustable, but I lost this and used roleed up towels with my next two and it was fine. The best high chair ever without a doubt. You can even put it in the dishwasher!

Absolutely. We used the blow up insert with ds for a few weeks but a rolled up towel would have done as well.

Still going strong 2.5 years later and looks practically brand new despite much abuse.

I used the Antilop from 5.5 months. It's BRILLIANT! I was advised against the blow up insert as it breaks very easily but I got a padded insert (I used the East Coast one designed for their high chairs - about £11 on ebay) and it fit really nicely. I used the insert for about 2 months.
