Booster Seat or Highchair for eating at the table

Hi,
My 11mo DS currently has a M&P prima h.chair which is a pain to clean, takes up alot of room and he's now climbing out of it.

He seems to like those babydan style h.chairs that he sits in when we eat out as he is at the table with us so we're currently deciding which one to get. I know there's the tripp trapp and the antilop one too which I believe are for eating at the table? Then going through this forum, I've read alot of people also recommend booster seats instead of h.chairs.

Based on my requirements which are space saving, easy to clean and hard for DS to escape, what would experienced mum's recommend I get?

We have the same M&P highchair, enormous isn't it!

Most space saving would probably be a booster seat. Second will be the antilop as it's easy to take apart and store if you need the extra space for anything (and doesn't take up an extra chair at the table).

Longest lasting would be a tripp trapp/babydan type but if he's escaping the M&P he'll probably be able to get out of them too.

At this age we used a booster seat, and now DS is older we've got him one of these (just to throw another option at you ) which he loves, but he's almost 3 now.

Many thanks for your great response! Lot's of great information in there. I have had a look at the handysitt, they look quite good. I would have to buy another chair for him to accomodate that because our chairs have rounded tops but that is fine.

With the antilop, does that sit at the table like a b.dan style one? I ask because when I look at Ikea, it seems the legs come out on an angle so I wouldn't be able to push it flush against the table? The thing that concerns me re. the babydan style is he turns himself around in those when we dine out so that could be an issue as well as him escaping.

The antilop does go up to the edge of most tables, yes. Why not go to Ikea and have lunch there and test one out :)

The footprint isn't as big as the M&P one, and because the legs are so thing you can generally fit it around other chairs anyway.

Beware that the antilop can be quite easy for them to pull themselves up in so make sure you get the harness (should be with it, but ours didn't so double check)
