G&T magazine at school - any creative souls out there?

School has invited all their registered G&T children to contribute to a summer newsletter with articles etc. It feels very biased towards literacy but DS, specialist subject numeracy, would like to put something in. Any ideas for how to include him in this with a numeracy 'thing' that would appeal to others, bearing in mind that he's pretty average at writing?

have you thought about a fun bit maybe a number puzzle as he'd obviously have to get everything to like up maybe a number crossword ect worth a thought

How about asking him to write an article about how much numeracy is applied in a typical day without realising it? Could make it nice and chatty so that the numeracy aspect is accessible to all students?

Start off by asking your ds to list a typical day (poss not in school) and then think how many situations he could apply numeracy to events in the day, e.g. reading a bus timetable; using the right change; working out how much for a family to pay for tickets to the cinema; prioritising purchases according to how much money you have; understanding the footie results and league tables for Final Score; playing various games, etc etc.

What brilliant ideas, thank you both. Lost my own creativity today, so much appreciated! Ta
