Schools for 2e children in West midlands?

My DS is 4 and currently in mainstream with 1-1 support but teachers and myself have agreed he will thrive best in a specialist setting to support his 2e profile. He needs support to meet his communication and interaction needs (he struggles with big class sizes, gets sensory overload and isn't yet able to consistently communicate functionally), but is a strong academic learner as he is already top of his class for maths and reading. The plan is for him to start yr1 in Sept in a specialist setting. It's been a few months now and I'm struggling to find something - does anyone have any good ideas of schools in the West midlands or surrounding areas please?? Thanks alot

My limited knowledge is of one of my lecturers (20 + years ago) moved his son from mainstream to Walton Hall in Staffordshire. His son has autism but very academic so similar to your child' profile I'm guessing.

Only a handful of students do GCSEs there and they do a lot of outdoor learning, canoeing etc. They takes students with various SEN needs.

They claim each child get an individual curriculum.

Thanks a lot! Unfortunately I can see they only do secondary school, looking for primary schools at the moment but I'll keep a note of it for when he gets to that age

If you contact them they may have recommendations or feeder schools.
