Please could you list the characteristics/personality traits of your kids at reception age. I'm not necessarily looking for academic indicators as in "he could recite his times tables etcConfusedbut inborn traits. Thanks!Confused

Yes, and endless circular conversations about weather such and such a place is north north west of here or just north westGrin and will we get on the motorway at junction 22 or 23.. We have a talking globe that keeps him amused for hours, that and geo safari- both hand me downs from much older siblings

Well I have a ds and dd with autism and then the ds who is gifted, gifted ds definitely doesn't have autism but the chromosome suspected to throw up autism also throws up giftedness so I don't think they are far removed from each other in many respects.
We were watching child genius where they were memorising routes and ds laughed and said he'd be impressed had they been aged three like he was when he could do it. He's 26 now and just walked his Masters, still waiting to find something that challenges him although work entertains him.

I thought she may be autistic at one point. She isn't at all. Simply because I had lots of experience of working with children with asd and the precocious learning and loving of rules and how things work rang alarm bells with me. At 18mths she whipped off the nappy and announced she would be using the toilet from there on in; which she did. Her craving for knowledge and information was almost palatable and she absorbed it like a sponge.
