DS is nearly 7, VERY bright (not boasting, school are having trouble stretching him academically).

Anyway, topics that have come up in his conversation recently include what the world would be like if there was no gravity
And (this was the killer)
Does God really exist, becos He doesn't have a mummy and daddy, so can't be a proper person, not like Jesus, but he is supposed to have made everyone and...............

I need a source of books that can discuss existential concepts in terms of a child (think age 9 to 10).

plus ds was called the youngest sceptic the RE teacher had seen at age 6
There are some decent kids text about the big bang theory. DS really got into this
I'd also go ask your library, they were really keen on discovering books for ds and his burgeoning science brains

Thanks Piffle,

Ds is an avid reader, and an early riser, so some good books that will keep his interest will help me to get the odd lie-in too.

Mind you, I'll have to read them too, he likes a lively debate.

hi clumsymum, ds is 4 yrs old....has asked these questions as well...I use the internet and books to explain scietific concepts. I use toys and lego bricks to demonstrate concepts. As for god and his existence, I told him that that is what I believe and that he will make his own mind up as he grows up......
