Can I have a little boast please?

I don't consider DD gifted or talented, but she does appear to be bright. She has been reading since she was 2 and loves using the computer to type.

She is now 4.0y and is starting school in September. She has just drawn me some dinner on a paper plate and handwritten me a menu. This is what she wrote, with all her own spellings:

Menu
Chips
fishfignus
kechup
peas
mushe peas

Now, I know other children are brighter, but if I post this anywhere else I'll be accused of rubbing people's noses in the fact she's bright... I knew you'd understand!

I was just coming to have a boast to so well done to your DD, but without stealing your thunder I will turn this into a boasting thread.
My DD is year 4 identified as exceptionally gifted in science and Maths, but is a coaster. We get effort cards ever half of term which has just pinged into my inbox. At last the converted 1 ( consistently excellent effort) in Maths well done DD just because you find it easy doesn't mean you shouldn't try your best. To go with 1s in humanities, mandarin, Italian, dance, PE and IT has made me a very proud Mummy. You are considerably closer to that lovely shiny new scooter.

You should be very proud, my dd is only just getting near this at 9. (she is dyslexic). But in the theme of being proud my dd is an exceptionally gifted musician

I think it is great to know your dd won't struggle with this and looking back at my other dc, certainly a weight of your mind.

Well done to her, and so lovely she has shown you so young so you can get any support she may need at school
