I have been reading the threads on G&T over the past few months and have discovered a great resource for parents, teachers and children to use for advice, support and lots of school and out of school activities. The group is EMGaTE, East Midlands Gifted and Talented Regional Partnership. They have a really good website that is well worth checking out www.emgate.org.uk. Notably, they have FREE parent workshops around the East Midlands which seem to be aimed at parents who would like to know what G&T actually is. I have booked on to one through the website and I'm not currently from the East Midlands! They tell me that they are open to all not just the East Midlands.

I have also been told, although it isn't on the website yet, that ther is a parents conference next year which sounds very informative. I have 2 children that, without going into the debate on what/who is gifted and talented, thier school say are on the upside of average.

Hope this can give you some support like it seems to have for me.
