I keep having problems with my eye, eye infections, continues watery eyes etc, my eye was starting to feel better and now today it feels like i have a black eye, my eye ball feels bruised and it hurts when i blink, to look at it looks fine (no redness or discharge), what could it be? Is it another infection?

Could well be an infection - have you seen an opthamologist ? But get thee to the GP this evening to have it looked at again

I have an appointment with GP in the morning. I get eczema on my eye lids and have been using steroid creams on my eye lid for years and now the GP is saying that i should not put the cream near my eyes, i think i may have damaged my eye by using the creams . I have some drops that the gp gave me last week so i will try them until i get back to the GP.

I had (what I think was) a stye on my upper eyelid last week and it was just as you described - swollen reddish and worse painful. I did nothing to it and it went after a few days

Oh i hope it goes soon, its really hurting, i now have a very fat eye lid (looks like i have taken a punch), good job the sun is out so i can wear my sun glasses to cover it up .

A stye is a blockage of one of the glands at the lid margin (where the lash is).
When you have one you are normally able to see the blockage, looks a lot like the white head you get with a spot.

If you don't have that visible you may have a chalazion, which is similar bloickage of a different on the inside surface of the eye lid.

Normally this feels warm, swollen and tender but the eye itself is fine.

You should get it checked by an optometrist but a chalazion will clear it self normally (perhaps aided by regular use of a hot compress).
Occasionaly they need some help being cleared out under local anaesthetic but that is uncommon.

I'm not sure if it is a stye , there is a white spot but is quite far under the lid (not by the lashes), it looks a little like a mouth ulcer, it doesn't feel hot, just very painful/bruised.

Well, an optometrist would be able to make sure.
But it does sound like an early chalazion.

Can't even open my eye this morning , eye lid really puffy and eye runny. Off to see the GP at 10.45, hopefully they can suggest something.

It sounds really nasty, poor you! Where are you from? My sister in law had something that sounded similar and the doctor said that it was because the glands there get blocked so can't produce the oil necessary to keep the eye healthy. It is more common with people from Asia/Middle East. Hers wa huge (she said that she was growing another eyeball!). She tried the warm compress 3 times a day (ten mins with a hot flannel and gentle massage) but ended up having to go the eye clinic and had it lazered (not sore at all).

I'm from the uk.
Its feeling a little better now and the swelling seems to be going down, hopefully it will continue to get better. I will be keeping my sun glasses on today though as it looks nasty.

Hi i hope you get on okay this morning. I have a friend who regularly wakes in the middle of the night with the being punched in the eye feeling and she suffers from very dry eyes and has special drops to help her. Just thought I'd this little nugget onto the thread in case it applies x

Gp has told me to bathe it in warm water, she also said if i get another infection she will take a swab. Its feeling a lot better now but still painful to touch.
