I went to FPC to have coil fitted, but after 40 mins of her trying to do it, much bleeding, horrendous pain, and me passing out she admitted defeat.

She asked me whether I would like depo injection instead, and not wanting to have a wasted visit/being very upset I agreed.

I've now gone and done the stupid thing of looking at threads on here/google and am really regretting it already.

I'm terrified of putting weight on/becoming some hormonal bitch from hell.

Is there anything can do?

Bit frrightened.

Nowt you can do about it now.

Did she explain why she couldn't fit it?

If it's any help I had the depo for 4 years and had no problems at all, no wieght gain (at least not connected to that), no hormonal problems. I loved it. Wish I was still on it

I loved it too...well after I had another injection to stop the constant bleeding! But after that I loved it, no periods for 5 years, no weight gain (well a little but it wasn't down to that), no hormonal problems. Would love to go back on it but its not available here now.

Couldnt get it in, despite much trying. Was in agony (have had it twice before so thought I knew what to expect)

I had a similar experience, and after one round of depo opted for the implant in my arm.....lasts 4 or 5 years (no trips back to doctor for more injections, hooray), no hormones and very random periods....if your doctor offers it it is worth looking into....

I had it for years and it was fantastic, no weight gain, no hormone problems and no AF! I came off it after we got married and switched to the pill in advance of trying for a baby, as I was advised it can take a year to clear your system and for fertility to return.
