Slightly enlarged heart - should I be panic-stricken?

Bit of background - I had a chest and sinus infection back in February which refused to clear up for a quite a while. I've taken four different antibiotics, had a steroid nasal spray and an inhaler.

I've still got a 'productive' cough and spend quite a while in the mornings clearing my chest - it really is quite disgusting.

Anyway, had blood test and chest x-ray taken two weeks ago and saw GP today. She said lungs are clear and bloods are clear, but that I have a very slightly enlarged heart.

Apparently, the heart should take up no more than half of the chest cavity i.e. my chest cavity measured 32cm and the heart was 16.8cm - only just over half.

GP didn't seem to think it was an issue, and said it was just a radiologist "being clever with the measurements" but the more I think about the more concerned I am - and looking on the internet really doesn't help to be reassured.

Anyone had any experience or got any advice?

Thanks

My dad turned out to have an enlarged heart. It wasn't discovered until about 18m ago when he was 77 when he started having heart problems. He did go on to have a bypass and valve replacement last year. BTW the damage to his heart was caused by pneumonia when he was 14 so he got away with it for over 60 yrs!
