I think the point of consultants is to be good at spotting zebras, is it not?

Otherwise why have them?

What is wrong with DD? You can ask your GP to refer you to a Pediatrician who will then see DD. They have to do that. Then, the Pediatrician will refer you to (?) whatever the problems is. Depending on where you live I could give you a recommendation on who to see or where to go.

I am caught up. CBT only works on intelligent adults. Not children. If they think it PSTD then play therapy would be the best treatment. But as a parent you have every right to explore every avenues. Get Pushy!!!

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles - I read a previous post of yours regarding your daughter.

In terms of private GPs - If you can travel to London - there are SameDay Doctor (they're excellent and use all the time as its hard to get anything useful from NHS.

Harley Street are full of private GPs too (just google and you'll see).

If you feel you're being let down by NHS or just want a decond opinion, its worth paying £100 for a consultation with private GP. Its put my mind at rest more than once and as helped me get appointments immdiately for urgent issues when my NHS GP would have me wait 2 weeks (or go to A&E).

You'll feel better for doing so irrespective of what their advice is. And its a day out during the school holidays.
