I don't get PMT, I get IBS (irritable bitch syndrome) as I fly off the handle at the slightest thing. Poor DH.

Migraines (controlled with meds)
Savage like cravings to eat anything I can lay my hands on
Irritability mainly aimed at my poor DH
Clumsy
Emotional (last month I cried because I forgot to take my lunch to work!)
General can't be arsed attitude to housework (although to be fair I feel like that for about 3 weeks of the month!)

Sexonlegs · 29/06/2010 17:51

I was going to post recently to see if anyone else got anxious with PMT. I have anxiety issues anyway which I thought were mainly under control but the last few months about a week before I come on I get really anxious, it's horrible. ALmost to the point where I wondered if I needed to go back on ADs, but then a week later am fine.

Is this fairly common then? Is there any non-medical way to treat it?

CerealOffender · 29/06/2010 18:08

i am an utter loon and rampage through the hosue looking for sugary shite to eat.

bint - my sister read a good article about the over use of ads for pmt and how progesterone patches can be used, she is posting it to me.

bintofbohemia · 29/06/2010 18:49

Oooh, Cereal - that sounds interesting. Do they also use progesterone after birth to bear PND or am I getting my wires crossed?

CerealOffender · 29/06/2010 19:45

i don't know i will have a hunt and see if i can find out more.

bintofbohemia · 29/06/2010 19:49

magic - thanks!

CerealOffender · 29/06/2010 20:14

okey dokey - article was in sunday times by lois rogers, it is about thsi guy i was wrong he advocates use of oestrogen or testosterone. he thinks there is a turf war between pshychiatrists and women's health specialists

MavisEnderby · 29/06/2010 20:22

Well over the last week I have been tearful,on a short fuse, backache, headache, forgetful just bloody crap really.I had not had a period for 4 months (I think due to stress re dps terminal days and stuff following his death)so this is the start of a flaming awful monster period from Hell.Am currently laid propped up on several pillows and have taken enough brufen/paracetomol to tranquilise a horse (ok slight exaggeration)

Times like this I wish I were male

candyfluff · 29/06/2010 22:46

hugs mavis xx
