Anyone have experience of TMJ surgery?

My cartlidge is dislodged and i have been told i need surgery to correct it.
Has anyone else had experience of this?

I've had an arthroscopy on my TMJ many years ago and the recovery wasn't too bad and scars tiny.

Did it cure you ?
How long did it take to recover?

It helped but certainly hasn't cured it I'm afraid. Apparently it is one of those things where it either works instantly or not at all.

I can't remember how long it took to recover from I'm afraid but it wasn't long at all, just a bit sore and stiff for a while.
