Bleeding lots right AFTER stopping Cerazette-not time for my period?

Grrr....Was on it for a month and a half, had my period, then spotting/bleeding every day for a month, then my second period, on time-that was two weeks ago. Because light bleeding continued after that and I was getting so fed up with it (great contraceptive-I just didn't have any sex at all!)I stopped taking it day before yesterday. Bleeding lighty yesterday and now it feels like period (which I had 2 weeks ago).

WTF? Is it normal? How long before my cycle gets back to normal?

After i had my first baby, i was on cerazette as i was breast feeding. I hated it, i bled almost constantly for 5 weeks. I looked it up on the internet, and a lot of women said that cerazette made them bleed between periods and very irregular.
As far as i remember it didn't take long to get back to normal once i stopped taking it. I only took it for 5 weeks, so almost the same as you, and i think cos it wasn't long, it doesn't take long to get out of your system.
Hope this has helped.

funnily enough im having similar probs, but its the second time ive been on it.

the first time it just stopped my periods all together. didnt have one for 5 years, so im going to persevere.

ive been on it a month (2nd time) and im spotting/bleeding - have been for 8 days now, but its not enough to bother me and im still getting jiggy with it....its so little its not bothering me or DH.

so im going to stick with it again and see what happens.

Thank you for your replies. It's almost stopped now and it looks like it will for good- fingers crossed.
Vicar- yes, my gyneco told me to persevere and the bleeding should stop in a month or two, but honestly I was fed up- it was a bit more than just spotting and I just don't feel very sexy with it.
