is my implant making me fat?

I have had an implanon implant for only 3 months but during that time have felt horribly tired and have been steadily putting on weight regardless of what I eat. Was wondering if anyone has similar experiences as am thinking of having it taken out.

If you are feeling horribly tired perhaps you are sitting more and eating while sitting? It can cause weight gain (normally about ten pounds). Why don't you write down what you eat for a week and take it to the GP?

Have your thyroid tested.

Thanks - have gor an underactive thyroid and am on medication for that - feel like I am no use to anyone at the moment!

This is v interesting - but not really what I wanted to see! Is the weight gain unavoidable? i had one put in 5 weeks ago - obstetrician suggested it as she was sewing me up after c-section. I agreed because certain don't want any more children - but I had never considered it as a method of contraception before. Am already carrying too much extra weight after this pregnancy, so really don't want another 10lbs. Agree though that fat better than pregnant for me.
