Hi,

I only went to the park for 4 hours, not a very hot day, and got such a bad burn on my arms that they have now even become very very swollen!!

The swelling is between shoulder and elbow and it seems to get bigger and bigger

Is this normal and I just have to bear with it or should I see a doctor? What helpls wiht the swelling?

THanks for any advise as I am getting worried .

I would phone NHS direct and ask, or your surgery if it's still open. You can get quite badly burned from the sun, and thats a biggish area for a burn.

Are you sure it's sunburn not a rash

A few weeks ago I had poly morphic light eruption which is basically and allergic reaction to the sun. My arms swelled up but not straight away. GP gave me oral antibiotics, and antibiotic cream and higher doses of antihistamines. Do you have an out of hours centre you can go to or a&e
