I had ds2 7 months ago, had a rough time of it, ended up with EMCS then further emergency op a week later.

My periods are hell, they only last for 3-4 days but they are so heavy, at the moment I am changing super tampax every 2.5 hours and last night I wore tampax and a towel to bed and got through both.

Is this normal. I know my periods have changed after each baby but surely I shouldnt be losing this much blood.

I previously had a mirena so no periods for 5 years between ds1 and ds2

Same here mosschops, started up again last week and it was just like that, I've had 2 sections & other womb surgery over the years. It was also over in about 4 days as opposed to my previous slow but steady 6 day ones.

It's hard to keep it in perspective when you've had a difficult time of it womb-wise(and I know that you have). IME if something is really wrong, there's no doubting it, so if you feel all right in yourself, just try and take your mind off it by doing other things.

I've had two emcs and my periods are definitely shorter but heavier. DS2 is nearly 6 so it doesn't appear to be a short-term thing. Sorry.

Ive had 2 c sections and my periods now last 7-8 days (used to be 6) and are VERY heavy

bamboobutton · 18/06/2010 15:36

my periods were like that before pregnancy! i once bled through a super plus tampon in less than 20 minutes.

after 1st pregnancy and cs periods were a bit heavier and i couldn't wear tampons anymore due to prolapse i had to wear night-time towels all the time.

i dread to think what periods will be like after the cs i had a week ago.

My periods used to last 4-5 days and be quite light. I've had two c-sections (5 yrs ago and 19 momths ago) and they have got longer and heavier after each one. The first two days of my period now - extremely heavy. i don't think I've had a period in months that i haven't had one embarassing leakage episode!

oh thank god its not just me, I have worn 3 pairs of knickers today now and have even gone through to my trousers

I know it cant go on like this as its so horrible but I am putting off having my coil put back in

mine changed after two CS - eally heavy and horrible. went back on the Pill when DD2 was 9mo and have recently had my first bleed - it was bliss in comparison!

SoupDragon · 18/06/2010 20:18

Mine went like that after having children and I've had 3 vaginal births and friends have made similar observations (about their own periods, not mine, obviously )

I don't think it s c- section related.

Strawberrycornetto · 18/06/2010 20:27

I had 2 csections and my periods are also like that now. Dr sent me for a scan and nothing showed up. I am quite glad to hear it's not just me.
