Hi, just a post in the hope that someone else has had a similar thing happen and can shed some light on the subject !
I gave birth to DD on boxing day and since then I have had two periods. One lasted two days and then twelve days after it finished I started again. And I am still bleeding twenty three days on. The bleeding was ultra heavy for ages but painless. It seems to be tailing off slightly now, with an hour or two here and there blood free, but just when I think it's finally done, I go to the loo and no, wrong again, it's still there.
I've been to see my GP about it and she has agreed this is not normal and has booked me in for a scan to generally check my ovaries etc.When I asked her what it could be, she was quite vague and said she thinks it could be hormone related after childbirth.(I appreciate she can't know what's going on until after the scan, but argh, I want answers!)
BUT.....this is six months after the fact and I'm not breastfeeding ! What I think I'm trying to say is that it just seems bizarre that giving birth that amount of time ago can still be wreaking havoc on my hormones, but hey, I suppose that's what being female entails.
I would really appreciate any opinions/advice about this situation. It's really getting me down now and I just need to know what's going on...and I really need to stop googling !
