Pneumonia twice in 6 months - could there be an underlying cause?

I had pneumonia over Xmas and now I have it again (my birthday )

The bout over Xmas was originally diagnosed as Swine Flu so I actually really suffered for a good 10 days before anybody realised I had contracted pneumonia... took a couple of months for me to feel a lot better.

Now I have it again, it hit me like a ton of bricks at work last night (after having a bit of a cough for a couple of weeks) GP has confirmed it and I have Antibiotics now, happy to be treating it earlier this time!

I am just wondering why it has happened again so soon. I am a fit healthy 27 year old with no chest problems.

I do work in a very dusty environment and my shift last night was the first one after 2 weeks annual leave, so I'm wondering if the dust has triggered it?

Or is it possible that the first lot of pneumonia was so bad that it could leave me susceptible to it again?

If anyone has experience please share! (GP today was a locum and didn't really answer my questions!)
Thanks!

I would go back and talk to your GP again (not the locum one) and ask for some further investigation or at least some more information. If I had two bouts of pneumonia at your age I would want some answers (I am not a doctor but my family are big on lung stuff)

city the same thing happened to me at 33 ,i got pneumonia at the xmas(bloody xmas day in fact)and then again in the march.
My gynaecologist actually said it needed looking into after i got a 3 rd dose a year later.

I have a low immune system and have a family history of autoimmune diseases. I am now suffering with bad arthritis(auto immune disease) and my mother had bullous phemphigoid. I have had to have intravenous immunoglobulins to fight off parvo virus(slapped cheek) which i caught from DS2

Try googling earth clinic and the blood type diet by Peter D'Adamo.
