I am totally mortified. I have had all sorts of new (bottom) problems since I had DD, I am attributing them to wearing nasty synthetic maternity pads for so long.

Anyway have developed a rash in my [whispers] bum crack . It is red with a kind of blotch exzema type rash. I only got it since I started smearing on Anusol . It nips if I get wee on it, and is excruciating if I catch and pull one of the hairs in the area [oh my god] . It itches really bad at night so I've started moisturising [aaagh - moisturising my bum crack - how can I be reduced to this]

What can I do to clear this up? Have discontinued external use of Anusol, and moisturising seems to comfort but not cure. Thought about pinching DDs zinc oxide but that woud be really messy. Thought about talc to keep things dry, but get a bit sweaty so would prob turn to wallpaper paste and really pull those hairs.

Please help, I am so embarrassed [runs away and hides]

If it's really bad, try Metanium. It smells weird and it's yellow and stains a bit (so don't wear white pants) but it is the best thing bar none for clearing up nappy rash. And never use Always again, if that's what you were using. They are evil things. Get something pillowy and soft and old-fashioned if you are still bleeding and need pads.

Also, since the rash was only after using Anusol, do you think you could be allergic to any of the ingredients? In which case, get some Piriton down your neck and stop using it.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/06/2010 20:52

Not still using pads - usually use a mooncup - but not on this occasion

Don't think I'm allergic to the Anusol - think it was more that it caused more moistness than usual..

Oh. I'm sorry I asked now!

Only joking, hope it clears up soon, it sounds painful. Good luck!

Sudocrem is magic cream for 'crotch rot'. Common in adults/children who stay in wet swimwear for too long! It could be fungal, does it itch as well. Could try that lamasil that you put on athletes foot.
