Indigestion after eating fruit

Does anyone else get this. When I eat apples or grapes or (just now) blueberries I get really bad heartburn and nausea. I used to eat lots of fruit and now about the only fruit I dare to eat are bananas.

Any ideas what this could be?

It's probably acid indigestion or Reflux Fruit is very good for you but, eaten in large amounts, can lead to excess acid in the stomach. Spicy foods can do the same thing as can smoking, alcohol, certain fizzy drinks (Cola for example), drinking a lot of coffee.... If you're overweight or sit down to very large meals that also affects it.

If it is really bad heartburn and nausea then you should probably see your doctor for a diagnosis and possible treatment. In the meantime obviously avoid eating fruit & stick to a very plain diet of light, bland foods.

i get it with apples and sometimes i feel as though they are stuck in my oesophagus and that they wont go down...then i get heart burn.

Good to know I'm not the only one alypaly.

Chil1234 the funny thing is I hadn't eaten too much, had only had a brown bread cheese and tomato sandwich for lunch and was preparing a plate of fruit for the dc for after school. I only ate a grape and 3 blueberries.

I've still got abit of heart burn now but it's wearing off and I won't be eating any of those fruits for a long time!

i was the same....i had eaten breakfast ..a couple of slices of toast. Had no lunch as i was meandering round the supermarket. Then on the way home decided to stp the hunger pangs by eating an apple. It was awful...i honestly felt as though a was choking and then a horrible burning in the centre of my chest. Its really put me off eating apples with their skin on. Probably TMI but i felt as though wanted to burp it up IYGWIM
