I had 2 years ago, and had to have laser surgery, then dr found FOUR more 6 years later, again had to have laser treatment. Havent had a check for a while but i think i may have some more (have similar symptoms). Anyone else had this? repeatedly? is it common? is it some kind of weakness in the retina? genetic? I would ask my consultant but he's foreign and i never have the slightest clue what he's saying, so ive given up asking! Any ideas/info would be good as it does worry me abit.

Retinal holes are more common in people who are shortsighted, but if you're getting symptoms again then you need to get checked asap (at your opticians, or the hospital) as holes can lead to detachment which is sight threatening.
