If you have a hernia, is it better to have it repaired before or after your next pregnancy?

I can't find anything much on google, so wondered if anyone might have relevant experience to share...I'd be really grateful.

It's only a tiny one, in my belly button, caused I think by lifting huge ds1 a lot when I was pregnant with ds2, and the doctor isn't worried about it - just said it'll be fine, only worry if it gets sore etc.

But I am considering having another baby and have read conflicting things about having it repaired before getting pg again, then repairs causing awful problems during the pregnancy - I don't know what to do.

Thanks for reading.
