Constant and painful urge to urinate

I've had a constant and painful urge to urinate for about 3-4 days. No burning when I urinate. Normal coloured urine. I'm drinking plenty, maybe a bit too much coffee (2 lattes this morning). No temperature.

I foolishly went on a trampoline on Friday - stupid as I have stress incontinence.

I had urodynamics investigations yesterday (horrible!) and they needed a urine sample, which I presume was tested for infection?

On Monday evening I had to do a test, as past of the uro investigations, which involved drinking lots of water and then coughing and running up and down the stairs. After doing that things became much worse and I was peeing every 15 minutes for a few hours.

For the last few hours I've been peeing every 15 minutes, and am pretty uncomfortable.

Any advice?

It's amazing the things I am sharing with you lovely ladies that I cringe to tell people face to face. If anyone reading this knows me in real life, please don't let on

It sounds like cystitis - drink lots of water and cranberry juice. You can get over the counter remedies too, they taste awful though.

However if it has gone on for 3 days you could probably do with some antibiotics just to clear it up.

What bertie said - when my mum had lots of physio /urodynamics stuff done pre a bladder op she had multiple flare ups of UTIs / cystitis - hope you're on the mend soon - this kind of thing is just horrid

Thanks.

I'd wondered about cystitis but dismissed it as surely they tested my urine yesterday? And does cystitis not also cause burning when passing urine?

You might need antibiotics. It sounds like a urinary infection. . . .to be treated with drugs from G.P. Simply drinking water/cranberry may help but may not knock it on the head. good luck hope it gets better !

I don't think that it always causes burning. When I've had it the overwhelming symptom is constantly needing to do a wee and then when I am there barely a dribble comes out.

But yes I think they probably would have tested yesterday. Did they tell you what the results were, or are you still waiting for them?

I am sure drinking water is probably the best thing to do as it will help flush any infection out.
