Think I've messed up my pill - need quick advice

I decided to re-start taking the pill - albiet without the doctors approval (I just found some in my wardrobe from a few months back) and I vaguely remembered you start taking them on the first day of your period.

Well yesterday I was bleeding. Took me by suprise because it was a week early and I'd not had my usual warning signs (aching breasts, hair trigger temperament, headache etc) but I just assumed it was first day of period anyway and took my first pill. Thing is I've had no bleeding since! so if it wasn't my period, what the hell was it and what do I now do about the pills I've started taking?

I'd suggest you complete the course now that you've started. In the meantime, use alternative contraception i.e. don't rely on the pill if you've started it mid-cycle.

In the meantime, go to see your doctor. a) To check out the cause of the mid-cycle bleeding and b) for a health-check now that you're taking the pill again
